Good and Bad News

I just realized that something that used to frighten me has been eliminated. Although we still have predictions regarding the number and ferocity of the upcoming hurricane season, we don’t have the ominous predictions from AAA that we used to expect before holidays. It was customary for years to read or hear this kind of prediction: “550 people will die on the nation’s highways this holiday weekend.” I wonder why they issued these forecasts and why they have stopped doing so. Whatever the reason, I am glad they no longer do it. We have enough negative news nowadays without hypothetical predictions of death on the highway. As I write about this old news, I am listening to a news bulletin announcing the extraction of four of the Thai boys who have been trapped in the underground cave. Hopefully, the rest of the group will be out and safe very soon. Now that’s a good prediction and good news.
