Just north of Clearwater and just off McMullen Booth Road is the little town of Safety Harbor. It is scenic in the sense that it is the little town that forgot to grow. Readers, many of you know that, for years, I bowled with a fellow teacher every Saturday morning at 8:00. That ritual ended last year when the bowling alley manager told us that we could no longer bowl on Saturday morning as he needed the lanes for league bowlers. We managed to get together and bowl another couple of times, but it never had the feel of those wonderful Saturday mornings. My trip to Safety Harbor cames as a result of Rick and his wife Ginger agreeing to meet me at the Paradise restaurant on Main Street for lunch and renewal of our longtime friendship. The drive up had been easy; the drive home through the residential area of Safety Harbor was a delight. Thanks, Rick and Ginger, for recommending the site for our friendship renewal.
