Scan It

As a computer owner with a scanner, I scan everything, even if I’m going to keep a paper copy of something. I have found that scanning the files as .pdf files doesn’t take up much room. I scan items that I want to remember, such as concert tickets. I put them in a “Memorabilia” folder. I have scanned all of my credit cards and licenses (driving and medical) and put them in a “Cards” folder. I scan financial statements and have learned to use .pdf to over-write and save, adding information that I need to remember. I’m certainly not a computer guru, but I do feel safe by knowing how to use the scanner. I’m sure you’re asking about this time, “Do you back things up?” Yes, I do. I pay for Carbonite which automatically backs-up the files on my computer. One more important point: learn where your files are going to be stored when you scan them.
