The Powlawskis

Four years ago, I agreed to join a group of friends on an Alaskan cruise that began in Vancouver, British Columbia, and ended in San Diego, California. There were twelve of us: five married couples and Jack Sullivan and myself. We were the odd couple. The group proved to be a wonderful testament to friendships, and the cruise was awesome. Before the cruise, I had never known Margie and Peter Pawlowski. They were friends of my friends, Linda and Mike Scheible, who had organized the cruise. The Pawlowskis were dealing with the recent death of a grandchild. Being with a ring of friends that coalesced on this cruise was what they needed. On this recent Caribbean cruise a few weeks ago, Margie and Peter once again signed up for the same cruise that Dimitris and I were taking. They had never met Dimitris but had expressed eagerness to do so. Once again, they proved to be great travel companions. It is Margie’s watercolor print that I decided to use for my Christmas card this year.

Me and Dimitris
