I Can’t Believe It’s Butter

What do peanut butter, butter pecan ice cream, and butter all have in common? I love all of them. I found myself the other day with no peanut butter in the pantry. I panicked. My favorite peanut butter (the nutty variety) is Panner, and it can only be found at Save-A-Lot stores. It is $1.69 per jar, and I almost always buy multiple jars so that I will never run out. A dab of peanut butter and a dab of apple jelly on a Ritz cracker is pure heaven. Next to my peanut butter crave, I love butter pecan ice cream. Again I give the nod to Save-A-Lot where their ice cream is $2.99 a carton. Yummy, it is. With slices of banana mixed in, butter pecan ice cream can’t be beat. I suppose both of these items owe their basic taste to just plain butter–not margarine, not “I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter.” Pure unadulterated butter enhances the taste of anything it touches. As with everything else, butter is not to be abused but, in the right perspective, it is so, so good. After my panic when I thought I was out of peanut butter, I rushed over to Save-A-Lot and bought two more jars. When I put them in the pantry, I moved a couple of cans out of the way and found two more jars of peanut butter.
