Lotta Dough

I have a friends who thrive on the idea of winning the Florida Lottery. They know their chances are minimal or less, but the hope of the win keeps them stopping in for tickets. I don’t know what they play as I know nothing about the lottery. Call me wacko, but I have no interest in winning the Lotto. I don’t believe in easy money, and I don’t want the responsibility of having that much money to spend or keep. It would complicate my relationship with my children and my ex-wife. It would complicate my giving at my church. It would complicate my handling of finances regarding what to buy and what not to buy. If one of my friends were to win the Lottery, I would ask for nothing, and I would pray that the Lotto win wouldn’t change him/her from the good friend he/she is. I don’t think playing the Lotto is a sin, but I know that some are addicted to it and buy more tickets than they can afford. I’ll stick with my teacher retirement and Social Security and will be content.
