It seems that every once in a while “someone” crosses my path. Whether the encounter is by accident or design, that “someone” will have either a positive or negative effect on my life. I would offer that the encounter with “someone” is highly individualized. For example, I could meet “someone” whose outlook, values and attitude could either depress or encourage me, affecting you in the exact opposite manner. “Someone” may offer an encouraging word or gesture, such as a gentle touch, a hug or a simple smile that could be the difference in “someone” else resolving to continue living. All of my actions have the potential to help or harm “someone.” Will we ever know? Probably not, but rest assured that every action causes a reaction. I can almost guarantee that everyone has a certain “someone.” When asked if they can name that “someone” who has most affected their life, almost immediately “someone” will come to mind.
