When I was growing up, I loved to hear Bible stories. I must admit that some of them got mixed up with the fairy tales I heard, but that was all right –stories of all kinds help us remember and allow us to dream. One of the Bible stories that intrigued to me was that of Noah and the Ark:
Rain, rain, go away,
Come again another day,
Noah’s working on the ark;
It’s still not done, but on your mark…
Come aboard all beasts and things,
Two by two while ship bells ring.
Of his kindred, every one,
None could swim, they’d seen but sun;
When the rain fell, someone said,
“What’s that stuff? It scares me dead.”
When floods arose, they closed the doah,
For no one knew God’s will but Noah;
And when the bird returned with wood,
Noah knew God’s plan was good.
So if joy has missed you, fella,
Better bring your umber-ella.
For in life there’ll always be
Rain and shine, just wait and see.
