Water, Water Everywhere

I have always had a hankering for being near water. When I was young, I lived near Lake Greenwood. It was on that lake that I learned to water ski. When I was in high school, a kid moved into our community from St. Petersburg, Florida. I couldn’t imagine why he had left a community near the beach to come to our little land-locked town in South Carolina. Now, here I am, living near the Gulf of Mexico, and I am grateful to live here. My love of water is not just limited to big bodies of water. I can watch a water sprinkler make its rotation for hours on end. I have stood at Disney watching the jumping water hours on end. I love Florida’s thunderstorms and pounding rains. Once, I had an electronic rain gauge. When it rained, the tube filled and registered the amount of rainfall inside the house. I used to be mesmerized watching the indicator move upward during a rainstorm. No wonder, when I die, I want my ashes to be scattered over the water.
